Great varied menu. We were a party of four, each ordering something different from the other and each very satisfied with our lunch. Large portions, good desserts. Servers we're not hovering but available and efficient with positive dispositions. When ordering we were advised of spice levels and asked if the level would be acceptable. Very considerate. Loved the patio seating, especially on a bright cloudless day with the sight and sound of the river right there.

The White Horse is a country pub and restaurant with beautiful views of the river. I love that they made it look like an English pub. The menu also seems to be European inspired. From pot pie, Shepard's pie, bangers and mash, to French onion soup. The menu was lovely with a wide selection to choose from and the prices were pretty affordable. Inside, it looked historic which I love; there are apparently some historic artifacts as well. Parking can be tight but we were able to find a spot no problem. We decided to sit out on the patio; to my surprise there was a river back there. It was on the cooler May side but a sweater solved any coldness we had. I started off with a sangria and I really enjoyed it so I had two of those. Then a French onion soup which was delightful. My sons had Mac and cheese and that was ooey gooey good. There was a slight mishap, I ordered a chicken pot pie but a Shepard's pie came out; they rectified that quickly and gave me a sangria on the house. The pot pie was delicious; I love how flaky the crust was and it melted in my mouth. There were ample amount of chicken. The server we was polite and attentive. With the great views, drinks, service, and food, this place deserved 5 stars and I can't wait to go back.

Great hearty food. Real comfort food. Friday and Saturday, i definitely recommended a reservation. I drove 40 minutes to eat here and was lucky someone canceled so I could get a seat for four because I didn't call and make a reservation

Warm and comfortable New England style pub that even has a blazing fireplace during the cold days if you're lucky enough to secure a spot ;-) but anywhere you sit you'll be treated with a warm welcome and attentive service. They have so many delicious sounding items on the menu you'll change your mind at least 4 times before the server comes to take your order. A great place to enjoy a casual meal whether you're at the bar (with an impressive Indian motorcycle behind it), a cozy spot by s window for two or bring all your family and friends. I would definitely encourage making s reservations even on a weeknight.

Drove from Westport CT with a friend here after he told me about the great food and burgers they have. I’ve never been here before and this became one of my new favorite places. I think this was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Outstanding service, very friendly environment highly recommended for anyone looking for a good pub to go to in CT.

The White Horse was a pleasant surprise. we found it on a Google Maps search because we were hungry. The view of the river is magnificent and relaxing. The food was extremely good “home cooking”. i love chicken pot pies and their does not disappoint. it was huge and delicious. My son had the mac and cheese which he devoured. we also shared the artichoke dip with chips. that was also delicious. we look forward to visiting The White Horse again i forgot to take a picture of the grilled brownie but you HAVE to try it !!! 2024-10-13 we came back 1 year later and the food is still fantastic.
